INDERA AT THE SURPLUS STORE

Founded in 1914 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Indera Mills has been a trusted name in warmth and comfort for over 100 years. The company was established by Francis Henry “Colonel” Fries, a visionary entrepreneur whose influence helped shape the American textile industry. In addition to Indera, Colonel Fries launched several other prominent mills—Mayo, Oakdale, Washington, and Arista—and served as the inaugural president of Wachovia Bank and Trust Company, now known as Wells Fargo. A true pioneer of his time, Fries left a legacy woven into the very fabric of American industry.
